Box Breathing for Hormone Balance
Today I want to share this safe, effective box breathing for hormone restoration to every woman who desires youthful vitality in the second half of her life.

Peri-menopause and Menopause lower our stress resilience and often lead to anxiety and depression as a result of declining hormone levels. Our brains need estrogen, progesterone and testosterone to function properly.

It is also recommendable for people with high stress jobs. Soldiers, police officers, and professional athletes often use box breathing because when they are in high-stress situations, it’s crucial that they remain calm to think clearly. This technique is also relevant for anyone interested in re-centering themselves, as well as, improving their concentration, mood and controlling emotions.
It works by distracting your mind as you count to four, calming your nervous system, and decreasing stress in your body and resetting your oxygen saturation. You can practice box breathing anywhere and anytime including at a work desk, waiting in a doctor’s office, waiting in line at the super market, or airport.

  1. Sit with your back supported in a comfortable chair or cross-legged on the floor, with eyes opened or closed, then breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds.
  2. Hold your breath for 4 seconds.
  3. Slowly exhale through your nose for 4 seconds.
  4. Hold your breath for 4 seconds.
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 until you feel re-centered.
