About

I use the form of Yoga Therapy, which I have developed over the past 16 years, to transform the lives of people suffering from a wide variety of physical and associated mental imbalances.  I also want to teach the methods I have developed to the next generation of Yoga Therapists.

Hi!

It was my grandmother in Austria who introduced yoga to me when I was a little girl and I have been practicing it ever since.

When I grew older, I became a high school teacher in Austria and in my early thirties I moved to Malibu, California.  I had a high powered career as an Art Director for commercials and music videos in Hollywood.  While I seemed to be living a highly successful life in Los Angeles, the truth is I felt that something was missing.  I’d been through an intense personal relationship crisis, and I was drowning myself in my career.   At this time and already feeling overwhelmed with my life, I recieved a thyroid cancer diagnosis.

I knew I needed to heal my life and give myself some purpose.   I shifted my energy to study Yoga Therapy and it became my passion.  Helping others work through their mental and physical pain became my life’s purpose.

“My passion and life’s work is rooted in my deep belief and experience that one can heal from physical and emotional injuries, awakening the body and mind, through a consistent and mindful Yoga practice.”

During my 30 years in the United States I have continued my personal practice and become an Ana Forrest certified Yoga Teacher, as well as a registered Yoga Teacher with the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance.

In 2009, I graduated from “Yoga Therapy Rx,” an intensive two-year program at Loyola Marymount University, and I am a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

I worked with the Singh Neurology Medical Group in Beverly Hills for 10 years, specializing in treatment for a variety of neurological injuries, as well as physiological and psychological stress reduction.

Throughout this time I have developed a speciality in medical yoga therapy for individual clients with unique health conditions, such as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, chronic heart disease, stroke, seizures, Multiple Sclerosis, headaches, migraines, depression, anxiety, cancer, spinal cord injuries, hip and pelvic area, scoliosis, posture/gate alignment, chronic fatigue syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s.  I also work with clients with sleep disorders, insomnia, fibromyalgia, PTSD, weight-loss, and with elderly with degenerative structural conditions associated with being bed ridden over a long period of time.

Yoga therapy is my life’s work, my passion, my medicine I offer to the world.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools—postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, and more—to address an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Yoga therapists have in-depth training to help them assess and keep their clients safe. They work with you to address your specific goals while considering any limitations you might be experiencing. The practices your yoga therapist recommends could include:

  • Movement ranging from gentle to vigorous
  • Breathing techniques
  • Meditation or visualization practices
  • Physical postures that address specific areas of discomfort or musculoskeletal imbalances
  • Any combination of tools like these!
